Do players need an app or an account?
No. Players hit Join up top (or scan the host's QR code) — the game lives at gifmania.app/play. Pick a name and you're in. Only the host has an account.
What's it like?
If Kahoot and Cards Against Humanity had a baby that speaks fluent GIF. One screen asks, everyone answers from their phone, the room votes — the same living-room energy as Jackbox, free, in the browser, with nothing to install.
How many people can play?
4 to 20 players per game. The sweet spot is 5–10 in one room with snacks.
What do I need to run it?
One screen everyone can see — a TV, a projector, a laptop, or a shared screen in a video call — and a phone per player. On a smart TV, open gifmania.tv and type the PIN with the remote.
Can we play over Zoom, Meet, or Teams?
Yes — the host shares the game window in the call, and everyone joins from their phone (or a second browser tab) exactly like at a party. It's just a browser; nothing to install for anyone.
How long does a game take?
The host picks 1–20 questions. An 8-question game, with voting and podiums, lands around 10 minutes.
Is it safe for kids? For work?
GIF search is filtered, the host writes every question, and voting is anonymous. Add the warm-up round and even first-timers are laughing by round one.
What if someone's phone dies mid-game?
They rejoin with the same name and pick up exactly where they left off — score intact. The game waits politely for stragglers, then moves on.
Which languages does it speak?
English, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew — each game picks one, and Hebrew games run fully right-to-left.
