What is GIF Wars?
GIF Wars is a group game played in any chat or on a big screen: a judge posts a prompt ("Monday morning, in one GIF"), everyone replies with the GIF that nails it, and the funniest answer wins the round. Points are optional. Bragging rights are not.
How to play GIF Wars
- Pick a judge. It rotates every round.
- The judge posts a prompt. "My reaction when the WiFi dies." Anything with a feeling in it.
- Everyone answers with one GIF within two minutes. First instinct usually wins.
- The judge crowns a winner. A point, or just glory. Next judge up.

GIF Wars on Slack, Teams, WhatsApp and Zoom
Slack / Teams
One channel, one judge per round, the built-in GIF picker. The judge posts the prompt, everyone replies in the thread with one GIF, and after two minutes the judge reacts with a trophy on the winner. Rotate the judge alphabetically so nobody argues.
The group chat is the arena. The judge writes the prompt, everyone replies with a GIF from the keyboard's search, and reply reactions count as votes. Keep rounds short; a chat game dies when it drags.
Zoom / Meet / Teams call
By hand: the judge says the prompt out loud and everyone drops a GIF in the meeting chat. Or share the GIF Mania stage window: players join from their phones with the PIN, answers appear on the shared screen, votes are anonymous, and the score keeps itself.

How many people can play?
In a chat, any number. On GIF Mania, 3–20 per game; the sweet spot is 5–10.
Do players need an app or an account?
No. Players open gifmania.app/play on their phone, type the PIN, pick a name. Only the host has an account.
Is it free?
The chat version is free by nature, and hosting and playing on GIF Mania are free too.
